"Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." Coco Chanel
If you can believe...
I was a Pharmacy major in school! I said enough of this and escaped into marketing. And wouldn't you have it? My first job out of school was working for a pharmaceutical company in their consumer product department! A few years later, I worked for L'oreal/Maybelline then a couple internet companies that went belly-up. I was fed up and worked on my MBA full time.
Ok, here comes the interesting part...
I jetted off to Paris to learn French for 3 months and ended up staying 2 years! I ran into some amazing artists who inspired me to get into fashion and design. Upon returning to the United States, I joined the other creative types who had two jobs - during the day I worked for Corporate but in the evening I was an accessory buyer and owner of the internet company, Funky Urban Traveler (international boutique travel bags and accessories).
I worked for eLuxury, the Gap and Mary Francis Bags and began to get involved in the design process, understand fabrics, body types and style elements. After a few years of selling other designer's bags, I decided to give it go and design bags myself. I wanted to create an impact where needed and started designing fair trade bags in Burkina Faso and Mali, West Africa under Semevan.com.
Out of the blue, it started...
In the summer of 2009, a few friends of mine began asking me to help them reorganize the "stuff" in their closet. Then some asked if they could come with me shopping ....After a while, others asked if I could shop for them! I was happy to help them and be of as much assistance as I could. I have a mean eye for style, color, fabric choice and a BARGAIN!
I find myself so excited about what I'm doing, I tell everyone! It's inspiring helping people get ready for new chapters in their lives - new jobs, interviews, public engagements..and yes - back in the dating world!
I'm located in the bay area but travel often. If you have any questions, don't hestitate to ask! Fill out the "Contact" form.
One note on my business name.Funny enough, people seem to pronounce it better when I spell it "Tais." Not so popular in America, but quite the contrary in Brazil, France and Greece. As a nickname, my grandmother calls me Tyese Elyse so....there you go- a play on words...the name of the business!
Both my grandmothers were the inspiration for this business. One taught me how to thrift store shop and look for quality and vintage items when I was 7 years old! The other one was an amazing seamstress who had an eye for style, color and fabric. Thank you Nonnie and Gram!
