So....recently a friend of mine and I were talking about a couple things related to shaving. Though he - a guy and me - a girl, I was invited into this secret domain of mens conversations. Here - where they actually talk about those red-bumps after shaving or wierd crusted bumps on the back of mens heads (ouch). What to do? Well, we won't get through all of it in one blog post, but at least we can start with two topics:
1. What If You Don't Have Shaving Cream?" What to use and how to use it to make for clean, smooth, soft skin?
2. We waste 3-5 gallons a minute just to shave! How can I help the environment and my skin?! LOL
Ok - Let's try and tackle the first one. I forgot to buy shaving cream! Now what? Go for the 8'oclock shadow? or (for women....stubble on a date?) This is a problem - especially when you are taking the 2 minute shower! I was reading one article that says, "The first stage of freedom uses only a razor (double blade is fine) and a bit of baby oil or mineral oil. While in the shower or soon after you get out, put some oil on the skin area you want to shave. Then shave it. The end.
The 2nd? How to save time shaving and water in the shower? If you feel clean and are pressed for time, just do what a traditional barber would do and use hot towels to prep your face and open pores. Some like to soak a flannel in piping hot water for a few seconds, wring it out, and cover my face/neck with it for 30-60 seconds, Its a must if you are really pressed for time.
